Kirton McConkie's Shaw invited to participate in new White House initiative to advance gigabit applications
Kirton McConkie telecommunications attorney, David Shaw, was invited to be involved in the White House initiative, U.S. Ignite Partnership, which was announced last week. The purpose of U.S. Ignite is to promulgate gigabit applications throughout the country. Kirton McConkie client, UTOPIA, is a charter member of U.S. Ignite.
According to the U.S. Ignite website the primary goal of the partnership is to catalyze approximately 60 advanced, next-gen applications over the next five years in six areas of national priority: education and workforce development, advanced manufacturing, health, transportation, public safety, and clean energy. Responsibilities of the partnership will include connecting, convening, and supporting startups, local and state government, universities, industry leaders, federal agencies, foundations, and community and carrier initiatives in conceptualizing and building new applications. The resulting new applications should have a significant impact on the U.S. economy, including providing a broad range of job and investment opportunities.
Mr. Shaw represents high-speed community-owned broadband networks around the country.
