Overview
David Tingey is the chair of the firm's Intellectual Property section and is a prior member of the firm's board of directors. His practice focuses on domestic and international intellectual property laws, including
- Acquiring, obtaining, and preserving domestic and international patent protection, trademark protection, and other types of intellectual property
- Developing and implementing legal and business strategies relating to domestic and international intellectual property
- Licensing intellectual property
- Addressing intellectual property issues relating to artificial intelligenct
Mr. Tingey is repeatedly recognized as one of Utah's Legal Elite for intellectual property and represents clients throughout the United States and in many foreign countries. He has served as a United States delegate in the World Congress for the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.

- Acquires domestic and/or international patent protection in a variety of technical fields, including computer software, computer hardware, electronic business methods, wireless technologies, electronic devices, communication systems, medical device technologies, biometric technologies, mechanical systems, material property technologies, recreational devices, chemical combinations, agricultural systems, fitness equipment, construction technologies, etc.
- Acquires domestic and/or international trademark protection for a variety of goods and services.
- Assists clients in developing and implementing business strategies relating to domestic and international intellectual property protection.
- Assists clients in licensing or acquiring intellectual property.
